BY-LAW NO.1
The Association will administer hockey in the North West area for all categories up to and including Juvenile.
BY-LAW NO.2
Names of the North West area Minor Hockey teams are to be selected from the existing names (North West Stars AA , Roadrunners , Thunder, Falcons, Norsemen, Panthers, Orioles, River Rats, Cougars, Rockers, Royals Jets, Kings, Braves).
BY-LAW NO.3
The official colors of the North West Minor Hockey Association shall be Red, Black, White and Yellow.
BY-LAW NO.4
The Association will synchronize hockey registrations for all community centers in the North West area, by holding 2 central registrations minimum.
BY-LAW NO.5
The Association will act in cooperation with community centers to ensure more complete participation in the North West area, as well as adhere to WMHA regulations.
BY-LAW NO.6
The Association will review and act on age advancements as per approved Northwest Policy
BY-LAW NO.7
The boundaries for each community centre shall be as defined by the WMHA and GCWCC.
BY-LAW NO.8
All participants must register at a central registration and present a copy of their membership prior to being allowed to participate in AAA/AA try-outs or other specified activities of the Association.
BY-LAW NO.9
The Association will charge a "Late Fee" of $25.00 (payable to the NWMHA) for player registration after the final published registration date.
BY-LAW NO.10
No registered player shall enter any other Hockey league (Oct 1st to April 30th) without written consent from the Executive of the North West Minor Hockey Association.
BY-LAW NO.11
The coaches selections committee will consist of the following members: President, Past President, 2nd VP, Hockey Development Director, Director of appropriate age levels. Three (3) Community Centre Reps.
BY-LAW NO.12
The coaches selections committee shall continue throughout the year to act as arbitrators between coaches, players and parents in the hockey program.
BY-LAW NO.13
Anyone who serves on the coaches selection committee shall not hold a position as coach, on an A1 or area team for his term of office, without the consent of the voting members.
BY-LAW NO. 14
The following guidelines will be followed with regards to A1 teams for ages 8 through 19, by the coaches selection committee.
1. Accreditation and qualifications are the main priority with preference given to area residents if possible
2. Parents would be eligible to coach teams their children may be trying out for.
3. The coaching positions would be filled prior to Sept. 1, so as to allow coaches time to prepare for the upcoming season and obtained contract ice if necessary.
4. All coaches will agree to a fair play rules as set out by NWMHA.
5. All coach’s will agree in writing to the “Coach’s Guidelines” as set out by NWMHA.
BY-LAW NO.15
Community Centre hockey coaches (and assistants) will not be allowed to coach hockey teams without obtaining the minimum levels required by Hockey Canada, Hockey Manitoba, Winnipeg Minor Hockey Association or NWMHA. This includes but is not limited to (Speak Out/Respect in Sport) and Coach Level, Initiation Level, Safety course or any other Certifications which may be required by the governing organizations of hockey
BY-LAW NO. 16
All coaches of 9 and under hockey must be active in the running of the Initiation Program.
BY-LAW NO. 17
Any written concerns or complaints against the hockey operations of the NWMHA must be addressed to the V.P. Programs /Publicity or appropriate directors and will receive a written reply.
BY-LAW NO.18
Coach’s search shall start May1st of each year. Coaches applications be taken for the coming Season and be appointed before the AGM of each year. If no suitable applicants are found then the Coaches Committee would fill the positions ASAP
BY-LAW NO.19
The Community Centres shall submit a list of it’s executive including all addresses, e-mail #s, phone #s, and positions by Sept 30th of each year and shall abide by privacy laws

BY-LAW NO.23
All players and parents or guardians will be required to read and sign the Fair Play/Code of conduct forms at time of registration. These are to be adhered to and will be kept on file by NWMHA.
BY-LAW NO.24
All league administrators (board members, executive, Community Center Reps. will be required to read and sign the Fair Play/Code of conduct. These are to be adhered to and will be kept on file by NWMHA.
North West Stars AA Hockey Club By-Laws
NO.AA1
All North West Stars AA Hockey Club operations will be governed by the North West Stars AA Hockey Club policies and by-laws, dated 2000-2001.
NO. AA2
The official colors of the North West Stars AA Hockey Club teams are green, white, black & gold.
NO. AA3
Recognized North West Stars AA Hockey Club Directors positions are as follows:
1. Chairperson, Secretary (non-voting), Equipment Director, Publicity Director, Ice Director, Events Coordinator, and Treasurer.
2. All positions would each act as Executive Team Liaisons, of which there would be one per team
NO. AA4
North West Minor Hockey Association will elect four (4) members to work along with four (4) members of the Seven Oaks Minor Hockey Association to run the AA program. Total elected is 8 members forming the North West Stars AA Hockey Club Board.
NO. AA5
North West Minor Hockey Association will supply ice requirements for the AA program as necessary.
NO. AA6
The North West Stars AA Hockey Club will act for AA, when registering teams with the Winnipeg Minor Hockey Association
NO. AA7
No Executive of the North West Stars AA Hockey Club may coach, assistant coach, or manage at the AA level unless no other suitable applicant is available.
NO. AA8
All AA coaches selections shall be made by the Coaches Selection Committee of the North West Stars AA Hockey Club
NO. AA9
Coaches and managers cannot remain with a group of players longer than
two years in succession, at the AA level, unless no other suitable applicants are available.
NO. AA10
No parent shall coach, assistant coach or manage a AA team that any of
his/her children play on, unless no other suitable applicant is available.
NO. AA11
The North West Stars AA Hockey Club will provide the North West Minor
Hockey Association with a financial statement, fee breakdown statement, bank statement as well as a complete program overview by May 15th of each year.
